VIETNAMESE REPRESENTATIVES JOIN “WOMEN ENERGIZE WOMEN” FIRST CONFERENCE IN MUNICH

On June 15, 2023, the first “Women energize women” conference was held in Munich, Germany with the participation of 400 delegates from Energy Partnership countries including Algeria, Brazil, Chile, China, Ethiopia, India, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Tunisia, Uruguay and Viet Nam. There were six exceptional female representatives from Viet Nam: journalists, experts, and leaders in the energy industry.

The conference is held in the context of smarter E Europe fair in Munich and invites participants from across the globe to join discussion rounds, workshops and other innovative formats focusing on topics around financing the energy transition and investing in women with exclusively female speakers. The conference will allow for women and allies to connect with each other, gain more visibility on international fora and shape the discussion on the energy transition themselves.

Throughout the conference, female participants actively engaged in discussions on a wide range of crucial topics to the energy transition. These included financing the energy transition, current trends in energy investment, political frameworks for more investment, and strategies to accelerate the energy transition. The conference also featured workshops on finance and female entrepreneurship, building personal brands, and innovative formats addressing energy and gender topics, all with exclusively female speakers.

The event went beyond informative sessions and created ample opportunities for networking and collaboration. Motivational speeches and evening receptions provided a platform for women and allies of the social just energy transition network to connect and support one another. By fostering these connections, participants were able to gain more visibility on international fora and shape the discussion on the energy transition themselves.

The “Women Energize Women” is a communication initiative by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), and the conference was implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) and the German Solar Association (BSW-Solar).
